Welcome to Space for growth counselling, I, Adele would like to welcome you to my webpage. I imagine if you have found yourself here, you are looking for some kind of support for your wellbeing.
Many people come for counselling for a wide variety of reasons, ranging from severe mental health problems, common mental health problems, to common life issues and personal growth. As a psychotherapist I am qualified to work in all of these areas with anyone over the age of 18, who live within the UK.
I like to bring a realness / authenticity to my work, drawing from many of my own life experiences, which you can read more ABOUT ME .
I truly believe we all could use some support and counselling throughout our lives, as unfortunately not one of us come through life completely unscathed.
It can be incredibly difficult for us to reach out and a certain amount of courage is needed in doing so, therefore just being here is absolutely amazing, you have already taken the first step!
I have trained as an integrative counsellor, drawing on many theoretical models in order to have more tools to work with and be better equipped to help a wider variety of people…
I can’t write it any better myself, so in the words of Irvin D. Yalom:
- I believe that a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story.
If I had to describe how I work, I would simply say I work with connections. Connections to different parts of our ‘self’ of which there can be many. To simplify it, I work with connections and disconnections to Mind, body, emotion and Soul. The idea being that when we are connected we have a better sense of wellbeing. Who wouldn’t want to ‘feel better’, no matter where you are in your journey, it is my privilege to be able to support you in achieving this.
Counselling and Psychotherapy has completely transformed my own life and wellbeing and I myself continue to engage with my personal psychotherapist regularly, as life is difficult at times! I believe we all need a safe space to explore our inner world, with someone who is non-judgemental, trustworthy, understanding and empathetic – we owe it to ourselves to care as much for ourselves as we tend to do for others, but often fail to do so.
The process of exploring, uncovering and healing can and often is quite painful, I am dedicated in ‘being with you’ through your process of self-discovery and growth. The way out of the pain is through, generally with some obstacles along the way, but the ‘treasure’ at the end is so worth it!….
